Hi, I'm Kathleen Finn! I am a Sophomore at Virginia Tech. I was born into a family of Hokies, my parents who met there, and my older brother Patrick. I grew up in a small town in North Jersey with a tight knit group of friends. It has always been my dream to attend Virginia Tech. I loved the idea of a football school with big spirit, great education and wholesome students. Ever since I was young I have enjoyed trips down to Blacksburg jumping in the stands for annual football games with my family.

I am currently a hardworking student majoring in Communications and minoring in Marketing Management at Virginia Tech. I have had an amazing time thus far and am excited to see what the future brings!

I absolutely love creating art and was enrolled in art classes all throughout High School. From freshman year to senior year, my art career grew as I started collecting and creating pieces for my AP Art Portfolio. I even created an instagram account to showcase my work (@Kathleen.finn.art).

In addition to art, I love using my creativity combined with my love of food to create a food account. I have always been a foodie, and when I had a plethora of free time during quarantine, I put this time to cook for my family and myself. I loved getting inspiration from Tik Tok, Pinterest and Instagram and challenged myself daily to create new meals. I showcased my food photography for the meals I cooked on my instagram account (@KathsKitch). I have even gained brand deals and worked with notable brands such as  MaryRuth Organics, Power Provisions and Vital Proteins!

As a student I have enjoyed being a Sons of Saturday Ambassador. This is the #1 community enhancement platform for the Hokies, in which it is my goal to raise brand awareness to Virginia Tech students and football fans. In this position I represent the Sons of Saturday by posting content on social media, designing and selling merchandise and planning future ideas that get the name out on campus. As soon as the Sons of Saturday gained The Hub Blacksburg as a sponsor, I took this into my own hands and began to spread the word. Given free advertising goodies, I distributed The Hub goodies to friends and posted on social media in an effort to share the new The Hub x Sons of Saturday collaboration. Additionally, the Sons of Saturday is working with a clothing company Uscape, in which very soon I will be designing Virginia Tech merchandise for their website.

I currently work for Virginia Tech's PRISM Marketing Agency as an Account Manager for the Pamplin College of Business. PRISM is a student run agency unique to Virginia Tech where we are able to have invaluable experience working with real clients. This role has given me an incredible perspective on the real world, as my role allows me to be the main point of contact between the client and my PRISM team.

This summer, I will be interning for Amazon in West Deptford, New Jersey as a Area Manager. I am so excited to be able to gain real world experience in this position and learn more about hands on operations in the workplace.
